Jean Lafitte National Park

This cypress tree is well over 100 years old... Jean Lafitte National Park was once a popular place for logging... cypress wood was prized for boats and canoes, it's highly rot resistant. They somehow missed this tree. Imagine what the cypress forests would look like if they had never been cut down?
